Analysis framework for the CMS HEP Tutorial

This package contains an example analysis framework that helps you get started with the CMS HEP Tutorial. You can build your additional analysis code on top of this example.

CMS VM Image, for 2011 CMS open data

The virtual machine image is based on CernVM (cernvm.cern.ch), with Scientific Linux CERN 6 (slc6), which is the environment needed for the CMSSW release to be used with the 2011 CMS open data. It gets the CMS software (CMSSW) from /cvmfs/cms.cern.ch and the jobs running on the CMS open data VM read the condition data from /cvmfs/cms-opendata-conddb.cern.ch. Access to the data is through XRootD.

Contextualisation scripts to create the CMS VM Image, for 2011 data release

The scripts provided create the CMS virtual machine image based on CernVM (cernvm.cern.ch), with Scientific Linux CERN 6 (slc6).

Software to extract the data for the browser-based event display for the CMS Experiment

Software to preprocess the CMS 2011 DoubleMu and DoubleElectron datasets for the two-lepton/four-lepton analysis example of CMS open data.

Software to produce the intermediate data files, derived from the primary datasets, for a simple analysis on Z decays to two leptons and ZZ decays to four leptons, of CMS open data.

Two-lepton/four-lepton analysis example of CMS 2011 open data

Example code for a simple analysis on Z decays to two leptons and ZZ decays to four leptons, of CMS open data.
