Monte Carlo simulation of pile-up is controlled by the code and configuration files of the package SimGeneral/MixingModule. An input distribution is specified for each set of production samples which is supposed to represent the distribution of the mean number of interactions seen during data-taking. During the High School Teacher Programme in 2016 at CERN, a working group prepared worksheets and instructions on the use of open data in schools. Different aspects of open data were addressed: visualisation of single events, data analysis in spreadsheets and data analysis in python on jupyter notebooks. These files are the result of the working group and they can be used as inspiration for class room activities.
