ATLAS Collaboration
This set of Virtual Machines (VM) allows you to obtain a computer environment that emulate as much as possible that one use for a particle physicist. Each VM contain ROOT as base software plus the Analysis Framework for the data analysis.
This customised set of Virtual Machines contains all the necessary pieces to perform analysis:
In particular, VM-μ for "micro" with unknown sizes yet, but much smaller that VM-N or VM-S. It will contain a Linux distribution with not graphical user interface. It will have important software dependencies and the latest version of ROOT v6*
Use this with ATLAS Data and MC Data for 2016 open data release
The open data are released under the Creative Commons CC0 waiver. Neither the experiment(s) ( ATLAS ) nor CERN endorse any works, scientific or otherwise, produced using these data. All releases will have a unique DOI that you are requested to cite in any applications or publications.
