ATLAS Collaboration
Dataset Derived Masterclass ATLAS CERN-LHC
A dataset of 1000 event display files accessible via MINERVA as part of the Masterclasses W-Path. The events were recorded in 2011 by the ATLAS detector.
The dataset can be analysed by using MINERVA, which can be found on the linked site in the section "Measurement". There you will also find a tally sheet and links to instructions on how to analyse the data found in the dataset. The section "Identifying Pariticles" will show how to find out which detector signature hints at which particle. "Identifying Events" details how to categorise events. Using the knowledge of these two sections, one can use the prescriptions in "Measurement" to find out how the proton is structured and to hunt for the Higgs particle.
