Environment Condition Heavy-ion physics CMS CERN-LHC
Condition database includes non-event-related information (Alignment, Calibration, Temperature, etc.) and parameters for simulation/reconstruction/analysis software.
These files are needed when running a CMSSW job on the open data environment (VM or container), and they are available in the /cvmfs/cms-opendata-conddb.cern.ch file system. They are automatically read from /cvmfs/cms-opendata-conddb.cern.ch/STARTHI53_V28 runtime.
STARTHI53_V28 is to be used with the proton-proton simulated data at 2.76 TeV from 2013, needed as reference data for heavy-ion data analysis.
See further information in the guide to CMS condition database.
If you are using the CMS Virtual Machine image or the CMS container image environments, then the condition data files will be served automatically from /cvmfs/cms-opendata-conddb.cern.ch/
or from a file server at runtime, and therefore you do not need to download these files. If you need to have them locally, you can download them from here.
The open data are released under the Creative Commons CC0 waiver. Neither the experiment(s) ( CMS ) nor CERN endorse any works, scientific or otherwise, produced using these data. All releases will have a unique DOI that you are requested to cite in any applications or publications.
