Dataset Simulated Standard Model Physics Minimum Bias CMS 2.76TeV pp CERN-LHC

Description

Simulated dataset MinBias_TuneZ2_2760GeV_pythia6_cff_py_GEN_SIM_START311_V2_Dec11_v2 in GEN-SIM-RECO format (see CMS Monte Carlo production overview) format for Run2011A data at 2.76 TeV.

See the description of the simulated dataset names in: About CMS simulated dataset names.

These simulated data correspond to the collision data that were collected by the CMS experiment during Run2011A and contain the simulation of the CASTOR calorimeter.

Dataset characteristics

2005000 events. 81 files. 238.2 GiB in total.

System details

START42_V11::All
CMSSW_4_2_8_lowpupatch1
Recommended container image for analyses is available in the following locations (see guide):
  • docker.io/cmsopendata/cmssw_4_2_8_lowpupatch1-slc5_amd64_gcc434:latest
  • gitlab-registry.cern.ch/cms-cloud/cmssw-docker-opendata/cmssw_4_2_8_lowpupatch1-slc5_amd64_gcc434:latest

How were these data generated?

These data were generated in several steps (see also CMS Monte Carlo production overview):

Step SIM
Release: CMSSW_4_1_6
Global Tag: START311_V2::All
Configuration file (link)

Step HLT RECO
Release: CMSSW_4_2_3_patch3
Global Tag: START42_V11::All
Configuration file for HLT step (link)
Configuration file for RECO step (link)

How were these data validated?

The generation and simulation of simulated Monte Carlo data has been validated through general CMS validation procedures.

How can you use these data?

You can access these data through the CMS Virtual Machine. Note that even if these simulated data correspond to data taken in 2011, the CMS 2010 Virtual Machine should be used, as the data were reconstructed using a CMSSW version compatible with that environment. See the instructions for setting up the Virtual Machine and getting started with CASTOR calorimeter data in
